DANI:
When have You started to work with sound and creating music?
| |
Gustaf Hildebrand:
"I
started experimenting with software-based electronic music about
ten years ago or so, and it all rolled on from there.
" |
| |
Why did you abandoned the Lithivm project? |
| |
"Got
really tired and bored it, both music- and imagewise, so I could
see no point in continuing with it. It was fun for a while though.
" |
| |
You released Your first album on Cold Meat Industry, but then
moved to Cyclic Law. Any particular reason? |
| |
"Not
really, after Lithivm had been shut down a good friend of mine
recommended Cyclic Law as an alternative and Frederic was gracious
enough to agree to release the Starscape album. " |
| |
You have been in Poland few months ago. Can You tell us did You
liked the visit, the concert or the people You met? |
| |
"Poland
was great, had a nice concert too even though Karjalan Sissit
obviously stole the show, hehe. Iwona and Szymon were great hosts
and everything worked quite smoothly.
" |
| |
| |
What can You tell us about Your new project with Floating World,
Lacus Somniorum? |
| |
“In short, Amanda of The Floating World and me started cooperating
a few months back with adding flutes and other elements to a
background of ambient music and we thought it all worked so well
that we decided to start a project together. We had our live debut
in Montréal, Canada a few weeks ago and it worked well enough, a
few technical glitches aside. We intend to release some sort of
album with Lacus Somniorum of course, not sure when but probably
in about two years time. We'll see when stars are right, so to
speak. " |
| |
Can You also tell us something about the album You made with Peter
Bjargo? How it came to this collaboration? |
| |
"We
are good friends and we both live in the same town so inevitably
we eventually felt like doing something a bit different to the
kind of stuff we usually churn out." |
| |
What do You do in Your free time. Any hobbies, job or anything? |
| |
"Trying
to get my driver license at the moment, we'll see how many people
I run over before I graduate.
" |
| |
What do You think about the ambient/industrial scene today? |
| |
"I'm
pretty out of touch with it, to be honest... for some reason I
find myself mostly listening to surf rock these days. I know that
there's a bunch of great projects lined up to release stuff on
Cyclic Law though, like Sike Dus, Cities Last Broadcast, Tholen
and so on.
" |
| |
Do You have any big plans for future? |
| |
"Not
really, mostly working on Lacus Somniorum material. We'll see if
or when any more solo material from me surfaces.
" |
| |
Thank You very much for the interview Gustaf. Any last words for
our readers? |
| |
“Thanks a lot for the interest, I hope things are well in Poland." |
